Bryce is a senior Film major from California. He splits his time between creating short films, freelance designing, and working on Nubko (http://nubko.com), a web startup focused on helping artists collaborate that he co-founded with two other Vassar students this semester. You can often see him boosting around campus on his longboard, avoiding sidewalk cracks and his problems. The bracelet in this post was particularly significant to Bryce because it was fashioned by Bryce for himself and his twin brother out of a single sheet of copper, stating that it “in a strange way helps me feel connected to him.”

Mariah is a senior from outside Chicago studying Drama and English. Her sense of style bounces around from sparkly party girl to groutfit chick to “this was my mom’s shirt” gal. Mariah is very proud of herself for making it through her nearly endless camouflage phase, and she can’t wait to be the anti-hero on the revival season of America’s Next Top Model in 2020.

She has been leading Vassar Sori (the traditional Korean music drumming club) to spread diverse cultural experiences on campus.

Hannah is a first year studying Japanese and Korean at The School of Oriental and Africana Studies. Although born in England, she considers Budapest to be her hometown. She enjoys living in London because it allows her to freely express herself and finds the diverse city a source of inspiration. Her favorite fashion bloggers are Claire Marshall, Jenn Im, and Eugenie Gray. Hannah describes her sense of style as “put together but quirky.”
“My aesthetic is somewhere between ‘Chico’s mom’ and ‘Warped Tour Lolita,'” says Miranda, a freshmen from Hudson, Ohio. She’s usually inspired by specific pieces that she finds- the Vietnam jacket, the tall socks, a great pair of boots- and rearranges her existing wardrobe around the new staple pieces. She loves how fashion gives her the freedom to turn elements of what she was forced to wear as a kid (pleated kilts, knee-high socks, saddle shoes etc.) into vehicles of self-expression and individuality.
Alice is currently a junior from Seoul, Korea majoring in Economics, hopefully with a French double major. Having played the violin since she was 36 months old, Alice considers music as her second language. She likes fashion because she thinks it enables us to project our ways of life & ideals on our outward appearances – though when she shops she admits that she’s pretty instinctive. Alice’s recent haircut was inspired by a Japanese fashion model Kiko Mizuhara.

Model: Sabrina Kleman
Sabrina is a sophomore Cognitive Science major with a Computer Science correlate. She believes fashion inspiration can come from anywhere. When we asked her to describe her style, she said: “I don’t think I have a classically defined ‘style.’ My choices are usually based off one standout piece with the rest of my outfit usually staying more neutral.” For this post, we see Sabrina incorporating some hand-me-down pieces from her aunt and grandmother.
